Fig. 05 — process
Spec-driven AI development, end to end.
Four fixed-scope, fixed-price phases — Spec, Build, Loop, Own. SpecLoop writes the spec; you approve it before any build; we finish to production in weeks.
Phase 01
Spec
Typical duration · 2–3 days
We write the document that runs the build.
After a 30-minute scoping call, we write the full specification: user roles, data model, every screen and state, every workflow, every integration, AI behavior, and acceptance criteria. You read it, mark it up, and approve it. The spec is free — you only commit when scope, price, and timeline are written down.
Deliverables
- Written specification (typically 8–30 pages)
- Data model and schema sketch
- Screen-by-screen page list
- Acceptance criteria
- Fixed price + delivery date
Phase 02
Build
Typical duration · 3–10 days
Production code, against the spec.
We build the app exactly to the spec — database, auth, RLS policies, server functions, UI, AI features, integrations, deploy. You get a staging URL on day one and watch the build come together in real time. Everything runs on TanStack Start + Postgres + a stack any web developer can maintain.
Deliverables
- Live staging URL from day one
- Database, auth, RLS
- Every page from the spec, built
- AI features wired through gateway
- Integrations + webhooks
Phase 03
Loop
Typical duration · 1–3 days
One revision pass against the spec.
You test the staging build end-to-end. We hold one structured revision pass: bugs against the spec are fixed, copy and polish are tightened, edge cases hardened. Out-of-spec requests get a short addendum with a fixed price — no surprise invoices, no death-by-Slack.
Deliverables
- Bug fixes against the spec
- Polish & copy pass
- Edge-case hardening
- Optional addendum for new scope
- Production deploy
Phase 04
Own
Typical duration · Day of handover
Code, schema, deploy, docs — yours.
We hand over the source code repository, the database schema and migrations, environment configuration, deployment access, and a written handover doc that tells any web developer how the app works. There is no Specloop runtime you depend on. Optional 30-day support is available if you want it.
Deliverables
- Git repository transferred
- Schema + migrations
- Deploy access (Vercel / Cloudflare / your choice)
- Handover document
- Optional 30-day support
Fig. 06 — timeline
A typical 10-day project.
Every project is different, but this is the rhythm most production builds settle into.
Day 0

Day 1–2
Spec drafted & reviewed
Day 3
Spec approved, build kicks off
Day 4–8
Build + staging URL live
Day 9–10
